Allure. That seductive hiatus between serenity and interjection, between the subtle and the powerful. It's with this precept in mind that we greet 2022, attracted by a mystical dimension that disrupts the rhythm of the days and has led us to look for inspiration in the most inhospitable – and unexpected – artistic landscapes. Putting aside any expected thematic coherence, more than anything, we've been driven by the interplay of heady stimuli, which are similar in the way they hint at mystery and arouse wonder.

True to the editorial approach that has always steered us, we have also made the most of the advent of this new year to reaffirm our determination to lend a voice to emerging talents, recalling some of the names that particularly fascinated us during our trips to Milan, Stockholm and Copenhagen, and by using these visits as a starting point for exploring new and promising narratives.

From the restrained compositions by Lisa Hellrup and Louise Roe – which so aptly express that quintessentially Nordic je ne sais quoi – to the surprising interiors that the Australian collective Flack Studio has been developing, engaging a community of designers, architects and young enthusiasts from all over the globe; and without forgetting, of course, the outstanding contributions of the Portuguese artists João Bruno Videira and Iva Viana in the reappraisal of the Lusitania identity, on the following pages you'll find projects worthy of our watchful and global outlook, while we remain especially committed to fostering national talent.
